I agree Cooldrums. For the first time last Friday we were able to go out for a meal and not have other people's smoke blowing over our food.

Even the pubs seem busier for some strange reason.

I do not know if you have noticed or not but lots of bus shelters with no bus signs or time tables seem to be springing up ever where.

You stand for ages amonst a pile of fag ends and despite this there is never a bus in sight!!!!

Do you think we will all suffer from nicotine withdrawl now

Well I for one won't Cooldrums cos I still have to walk through the smog in Glasgow. I mean the one caused by all the poor smokers having to stand outside for their cancer sticks ;o)
.
And like anonymous I found the pub we went to for dinner on Friday much busier than before. Perhaps it's all the non-smokers finally able to go into these places

I still think its PC gone mad...

As adults, we should me able to decide for ourselfs, not be dictated to.

Well if only smokers would keep it to themselves the legislation would not have been neccessary. But why should the 70% of Scotland's population who don't smoke, and don't want to breath other people's smoke, have to suffer because of a selfish few.

Even the people I know who do smoke say its great they have cut down considerably because they feel less compelled to chain smoke as they drink and few have even given up all together.
I do agree with you though Shirl, even as an ex-smoker I don't want to breath in other peoples smoke, I had very good reason to give up in the first place.
I can see England and Wales going the same way within the next year.

Actually spikey i have to say as adults we do have a choice, the people voted for the current and since the government is representing the people we decided to ban smoking, so really we only have ourselves to blame
